We'd never used implants in calves, my father didn't believe in them, but after we attended a cattle meeting, my daughter Elaine convinced me it was a good idea. The vet said we could use RALGRO* on both heifers and steers and we implanted all of them last spring. Elaine handled the implanting and it went very well. I figure the improved gain meant that the calves each brought in about $20 extra, so 115 calves put $2300 toward a new quad.
