Implants
increased hot carcass weight by 65 lb. The carcasses produced by the three
implant groups were of similar weights.
Marbling
scores and percent choice were higher for the reimplanted steers, the RALGRO/Revalor-S
group, than for the two groups that received TBA on day 1.
Conclusion The additional
cost associated with reimplanting would be more than offset by the increased
carcass value associated with this strategy.
